They do not accept AI generated images!

If you find any AI stuff - report the provider account, especially if you have a subscription or frequently use their stuff. I gave them my two cents on the fact that I found and seen multiple images. I don't think they have a report button, and frankly I didn't look well enough, but contacting customer support via live chat did the trick.

Don't let people doing that and selling the images get away with it. I don't know how much this will do, but it's worth a try. Maybe they'll screen the submissions more carefully.

When i was a senior in high-school i wanted to work in an artistic field, i thought it would be fantastic and fun. As soon as i joined college.... Well, my enthusiasm started dwindling away. I started feeling like I'm getting put into a box to meet the expectations of the industry, which is expected, however it started to suck the enjoyment out of the creative process. I have tried doing graphic design and drawing occasionally as a part of job, but i soon realised, i just can't. My slow demeanour and hyperfocus on details which was also making everything more time consuming was just not gonna cut it. To add to that everything I did, well a lot of it, was just not "commercial" enough. Plus the stress of having deadlines on creative stuff was just an error message to my weirdly wired brain. It was also crewing up my already messed up self-esteam, self- worth and already hardly there confidence in the skills I had. I'd be nervous all day, avoiding any check-in from the people in charge which made me question my decisions even more and take even more time, and i would kind of shut down to some extent. I would get to the end result eventually but i found myself dreading the times when i would be asked to "create" something. In the end it all just proved not worth it for them, cuz i just couldn't do it fast enough. My lack of skill in some aspects also didn't help, but at the same time having to deal with deadlines and someone constantly monitoring my process was just too much for my tiny brain to handle, so I decided I'm not gonna do it again. I haven't talked about it, and while the monotony of my work gets really borring sometimes, I'd rather do that than try to fit my creative vision into the commercial box that sucks everything out of me. I am ot a machine nor do i have a very thick skin, i take everything to the heart when it comes to my works. I'd love to do it full time, but I can't mentally. I'm already very self critical, which on it's own has taken a lot of the fun out of it for me, hence why i hardly do anything nowadays, because i just dread the disappointment and frustration, which drags me down into this dark place I can't get out of after. And with todays state we are in it's even less rewarding - people have zero attention span, every platform is pushing image content out and now the whole AI crap has infiltrated and grew like cancer everywhere. It is really demotivating and I said I'm not going to be sharing any new pieces on this dumpsterfire space, but with it being taken over by AI and garbage people more and more, my anger and frustration growing I kind of started to feel like giving up is exactly what they want from us, moreover it's just gonna make it easier for them to push us out. I thought about it and decided I will bring back posting things from time to time. Granted I AM NOT giving this place or any of them, my money. We as artists should post even more, I'm not just talking about this place but everything else, too. Take back our place that got overrun by ignorance and cheep thrills.

I'm also going to try and give as much engagement to actual artists as i possibly can, to fight the algorithm and encourage those who are starting on their journey. I have stopped liking stuff or even bothering to scroll through stuff because of what is happening everywhere and you can hardly know what is what now. BUT... As a community we need to do something on these platforms - take the time to support your peers, share their stuff on yours, avoid giving engagement to art repost accounts, take the extra minute to find the real artist and support their profiles if you can, instead! It is hard and frustrating I know, and I know people don't want to give anything to the technology and places that are screwing us over, but if we go underground and let it all take over, then what's the point? Do we really want to stop sharing the enjoyment with others, meet people alike and keep it all to ourselves? It is an option, but do we want it to be that? Don't buy core, cancel your subscriptions, if you need resources ask if you can donate to the artists directly or asking to commission instead of giving them points here, so they can cash it out instead of being stuck with points that they won't be able to use in their regular day to day life. Put watermarks on EVERYTHING and ANYTHING (I'm gonna start doing that). If anything else fails, highjack their hashtags and put/link process videos/photos up with little disclaimers that it's not tech, and most importantly DO NOT STOP TALKING ABOUT IT, DO NOT STOP SHARING YOUR WORK. We can't do a lot, but we can do SOMETHING. Leaving is an option, but what exactly is it gonna do? There will always be garbage paying for the services, all this is not gonna change or go away, but if WE DO, then they kind of won? So please, please think about it. This AI stuff is not gonna go away but i do believe it will eventually lose it's novelty shininess and people will get borred and annoyed at least to some extent, because everything looks the same, it is gonna happen. All I'm trying to say here is please DON'T GIVE UP, BE LOUD.

Since i'm no longer going to be active here on this page artistically, i want to give out all the points i've got - 5478. But instead of just giving them away, i want to commission someone for a digital drawing/painting/illustration, probably a character based piece. I don't know about the details, i'm pretty open to stuff since it's just gonna be a way to give someone, a real artists, a little job opportunity and so that they could "cash" out the points instead of having to use them on this website and support the trashy way this place is treating the creatives. I'm not sure how it works on here with commissions but if there's a way to send someone the points for a commission on here in a way they could turn it into money - I WANNA DO IT.

I like cyberpunky stuff. Everything else i don't really care, maybe i'll just send one of my photos or something to get transformed. I dunno, we can discuss the details aka your fave things/genres to draw, the way this is gonna work and the time frame (there's no rush here). Feel free to share this to spread the word and comment if you think you could do this :)

I finally figured things out to the extent that i can share this!

The Images are for NON COMMERCIAL / NON COMMISSION work ONLY, except for the character designer tier, as long as only the pose is used without the personal likeness. No sharing or reposting is allowed and I ask you to credit me if possible and tag me on insta (@silenceinsilver) if you share your work there!

The content is not gonna be very consistent but there's gonna be posts and sets of character stock probably once, or twice a month, sometimes you might get nothing at all, and because of that i chose to go with pay per post.

I have 4 tiers right now:

  1. Occasional Hobbyist - €3 / creation (plus VAT)

Spot for those who create every now and then and need a refreshment on their resources, or those who just started to build their skills.

Includes - Set of 3-4 HQ Model Pose Stock Images per Post

2. Hobbyist - €6 / creation (plus VAT)

Spot for artists and hobbyists who like to have some variety in poses of a character and gather a resource database for future creations.

Includes - Set of 5-6 HQ Model Stock Images per Post // Exclusive voting power

3. Artist - €12 / creation (plus VAT)

Spot for art professionals and those who are constantly in a creative mode and want a lot to chose from: be it poses, or characters to add to their existing resource database for their personal artistic endeavours.

Includes - Set of 10-12 HQ Model Stock Images per Post // Exclusive Characters or/and Poses // Exclusive voting power

4. Character Design Artist - €3 / creation (plus VAT)

Spot for character design artists and hobbyists specifically, who are looking for poses, with and without props, only. No fancy costumes/outfits involved.

Includes - Set of 3-4 HQ Model Pose Stock Images per Post

First sets are coming soon, sneak peak of what you will get as a tier 3. All tiers except for Character Design one is going to get these characters. I may occasionally have a character or extra poses for the tier 3 exclusively. The only difference is going to be the amount of images/poses depending on what you've chosen. All tiers include FULL RESOLUTION images unlike the ones i used to share on here!

I am also planning on sharing older stuff that i have shared on here but in a lot more variety, pretty much double the amount of images that was on here, depending on your tier. I'll also give the opportunity to vote for what everyone wants to get from the old stuff (some that i have never shared either) and from the new, maybe even suggestions on characters and/or poses.

I am not a young, skinny, conventionally shaped, athletic person, so please do keep that in mind, I'm doing my best to look decent in photos. Plus i only have an amateur equipment so the images are not studio quality. Despite of all of that I hope some will still find the images useful. I still want to share the characters, cuz i do so many photos of them but use only a few for my own works while the rest goes to waste. If anyone feels like it would benefit them from joining this - thank you! And i hope you'll have fun creating! Also don't forget to tag/mention me so i can see what you make with them!

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment or send me a message on here or insta!

Am i imagining things or is deviantart trying to make every piece of customisation on the website a paid membership thing? It seems like it's the only thing that might want people to give money to a very faulty platform. This place really doesn't have a lot going on for them for the people to actually want to pay money to be on here, or to be on here in general, so they seem to have been monetising even the basic stuff that was once a free to use thing on here?. Am i imagining it?

I see less and less of the long time members being active on the website, the people that i enjoyed seeing stuff from and sharing their pieces. I suppose life happens, but those who actually do it as a job still seem to be active on other platforms.

This was once a community. It always had questionable stuff, but it was never in your face. This was a place for artists to just have fun and share their interests and creativity with others. It was a tool as well as a library to explore things in a very specific way. You could go on for hours, pages upon pages of stuff, and now? you get to page 10 and that's it. Not to mention the hashtags are so muddy and full of garbage too.

I genuinely don't understand the need for social platforms to want to mimic something that's already out there. I get that everyone wants to get on the wave of things, but how many of the copies do actually get recognised and do well after? You can probably count it on one hand. Everything just tries to copy something else these days - instagram is trying to become tictok, tictok is trying to become youtube or something, deviantart is trying to be an "art" instagram...Like, do we REALLY need all of that??? What happened to having unique features that are only a thing on that platform and THAT platform ONLY?

This place is such a watered down version of what it once has been it's sad. If it ain't broken, why fix it? I know those feelings are old news but, i can't help it, everytime i pop in here it just feels alien and i don't want to spend time on it at all. I don't mind change, but this still feels like 100 steps back instead of a 100 steps forward.
